4th International Conference on Cartography & GIS & Seminar with EU cooperation on Early Warning and Disaster/Crisis Management, organized under the auspices of the Czech ambassador to Bulgaria is His Excellency Mr. Pavel Vacek and co-organizer Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic will be held in June 18-22, 2012, Albena, Bulgaria. The event will be under the patronage os Ms. Kristalina Georgieva - member of the European Commission. The International Conference on Cartography and GIS (ICC&GIS) is the fourth conference of this type that took place in Bulgaria (the previous ones were held in 2006, 2008 and 2010). It is organized under the endorsement of the International Cartographic Association. The aim is collecting knowledge and information about the latest achievements of cartography combined with GIS in the region of the Balkan Peninsula, Europe and also add global aspects. Some of the conference topics will be: GIS Technologies and Related Disciplines, Cartography and GIS in education, Map design, Planetary Cartography, GPS Technologies, Virtual Geographic Environment and etc.
